ChiroPulse SQL Server Express Firewall Setup

Step 1.  Go to Control Panel >> Windows Firewall
( in Windows Vista click Change Settings)

Step 2.   In the General Tab use these settings:

• Turn On (recommended)
• Uncheck "Don't allow exceptions" (or "Block all incoming" with Vista)

Step 3.  click Exceptions the TAB on top.

• Click ADD PORT button
• In Name enter the text: "1433 TCP"
• In Port Number enter 1433
• Check TCP
• Press OK

Step 4.    Add an Exception for SQL program

• Click ADD PROGRAM button
• Click Browse
• Locate folder c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\BINN
• double-click on the file sqlservr.exe to add it to the exception list
• Press OK

alternately you can paste in this program path:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Binn\sqlservr.exe

Now exit Windows Firewall and Control Panel.
Please DISABLE Norton/McAfee features such as "Privacy Service", "Spamkiller" and 3rd party "Firewalls".
